Formed from flat flexible film rolls on Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) equipment, pillow bags feature three reliable points of closure: a top seal, a bottom seal, and a rear vertical seal, guaranteeing complete air-tight integrity and extended product shelf life.
How the Automated VFFS Filling Process Operates
Product dosing is synchronized perfectly with film advance. Bulk material moves downward through the hollow central axis of the forming tube via volumetric cup fillers, auger dosers, or multi-head weighers directly into the freshly sealed bottom bag section. Once the precise target filling weight is achieved, horizontal sealing jaws execute the top seal of the filled bag while simultaneously creating the bottom seal for the subsequent unit.
Finally, an integrated mechanical or pneumatic cutter severs the pouch smoothly along the seal line, releasing a finished, professionally sealed pillow bag onto an automated discharge conveyor.
